Ceratiomyxa fruticulosa
Ceratiomyxa is a genus of slime molds, which forms together with its sister taxon, the Protosporangiidae, the group of Protosporangiida.
Features
The species of the genus Ceratiomyxa form columnar, branch or morchelähnliche fructifications, which are located on a common base ( Hypothallus ). The spores are not like most slime molds in the heart of closed fruiting bodies ( Sporocarpien ), but outside on thin stalks. The fructifications are therefore also called sporophores. From the spores arise tetranuclear protoplasts from which form eight haploid cells enthusiast.
