Cerea

Cerea is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 16,309 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the Province of Verona in the Veneto region. The community is located about 33 kilometers southeast of Verona in Verona Plain. Cerea borders the provinces of Mantua and Rovigo.

History

From the beginning of the 10th century Cerea was a fortress. 1223/1224 Cerea was looted during the war between Mantua and Venice. Since the 19th century Cerea is known for its furniture industry and - factories.

Traffic

Cerea lies on the railway line from Verona to Mantua and Rovigo to Monselice. The Strada Statale 10 (as Strada Regionale 10 Padana Inferiore ) of Milan, Mantua, and Legnano on Monselice crosses the municipality.
