Ceremony (The Cult album)

Ceremony is the fifth studio album by the rock band The Cult, which was published on 10 September 1991. The album was very well received by music critics and fans. It followed the earlier worldwide success of the 1987 album " Electric" and album " Sonic Temple " from the year 1989. It was heavily inspired by the Indian culture.

Background information

The album was later released in some countries (South Korea and Thailand, where the album was not released until 1992 ). In Turkey, the album was only brought in June 1993 on the market, after the band had completed some performances in Istanbul.

The relationship between Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy was at the time of the recordings for the plate at a low point arrived, so the recordings rarely in the studio together. Astbury and Duffy worked for the demo recordings with Todd Hoffman and James Kottak. The actual recordings for the plate came along with Mickey Curry on drums and Charley Drayton on bass.
