Ceriana

Ceriana is a town of the province of Imperia in Liguria, in the hinterland of San Remo.

The place is in Armeatal to about 370 meters above sea level and has 1263 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) on an area of 32 km ².

History

The town was founded in the time of Roman antiquity, probably in the 3rd century.

Attractions

Among the attractions of the place, the Church of San Pietro e Paolo heard in the Romanesque style, built in the 12th century. It was remodeled in the interior in the style of the Renaissance. The chapel of Santa Caterina is from the 18th century.

Behind the village, Monte Ceppo rises to 1627 m altitude. The place is on the way to the mountain village Bajardo.
