Cerinthus

Cerinthus ( Kerinthos ) was a Gnostic teacher at the turn of the 1st to the 2nd century AD

Since none of his writings has been preserved, must his life and teaching of reports and notices of other writers, most Church Fathers, be reconstructed. He seems to have worked in Ephesus (Asia Minor).

Cerinthus distinguished between God and one of them separate creative power. Often usual in Gnosticism it separates from the human Jesus Christ. The fact that he held at the Jewish law and Chiliast was, is doubted by more recent research.
