Cervecería Centro Americana

The Cerveceria Centro Americana, S. A. (Eng. " Central American Brauerei AG " ) is the largest brewery in Guatemala and one of the largest in Central America. It has its headquarters in Guatemala City.

History

The Cerveceria Centro Americana was established on 3 February 1886 by the brothers Mariano and Rafael Castillo Córdova in Guatemala. Ten years later, they brought the lager Gallo (Eng. "rooster" ) on the market today in Guatemala has a cult status. In the 1920s, the brothers gave the brewery its progeny, which opened in 1935 and new production in honor of the company founder, the Church of Santa Delfina de Signé built. 1974 and 1996, gave the brewery and its brands a new look.

The Cerveceria Centro Americana guarantees about their employees today the upkeep of 6,500 families and 80,000 indirectly from other families. About the Fundación Castillo Córdova financed the brewery several social projects in Guatemala.

Gallo has received several international awards in recognition for its outstanding quality, including the Gold Medal Monde Selection in Belgium.
