Cervera
Cervera is the capital of the comarca of Segarra, a county of the province of Lleida within the autonomous region of Catalonia. Cervera has 9212 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).
History
Cervera was founded in 1182 as a market and in 1702 a town. During the War of Spanish Succession Cervara was on the Philip V. Page After the war ( 1717) drew the University of Barcelona to Cervera. The presence of the professors and students of certain city life until 1842, when the University was moved back to Barcelona. The neo-classical building of the old university is now one of the city's attractions.
