César Guerra-Peixe
César Guerra - Peixe ( born March 18, 1914 in Petrópolis, † November 26, 1993 in Rio de Janeiro) was a Brazilian composer.
Guerra - Peixe studied from 1932 to 1940 at the Escola Nacional de Música in Rio de Janeiro and then was a student of Newton Pádua. He acted as the head of various Brazilian Radio Orchestra, taught from 1963 to 1970 in Rio de Janeiro and was head of a school for Brazilian folk music.
In addition to two symphonies, five Instantaneos, two Divertimenti, two symphonic suites, a suite strings, a piano concerto and a gaucho Holy Week for orchestra he composed numerous chamber music works, piano and guitar pieces, songs, choral works and film scores.
