Cesar Purisima

Cesar AV Purisima is a Philippine politician.

Biography

After school he studied at the commercial management at the De La Salle University in Manila and where she earned a Bachelor of Science (BS Commerce ). A subsequent post-graduate studies in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Illinois, he graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

He then began his career as a Certified Chartered Accountant (Certified Public Accountant ) in the law firm of SyCip, Gorres, Velayo & Co., where he was initially 1980-1989 Auditor. He then became a partner of the law firm, before 1999 to December 2003 Chairman and Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of SyCip, Gorres, Velayo & Co. was finally.

During this time he was also temporarily also Chairman of the Philippine- French Business Council, Co - Chairman of the Philippine -Thai Business Council, member of the Philippine- Japan Economic Cooperation Committee, member of the Philippine Industry and Commerce, Member of the Institute of Certified public accountant and a member of the Rotary Club of Manila. In addition, he has been since 1997 the main shareholder of Filhouse Gem Inc..

On 20 December 2003 he was appointed by President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo appointed Minister of Trade and Industry ( Secretary of Trade and Industry ) in their cabinet. This post he held until 2005 and was then after a cabinet reshuffle for a short time Finance Minister ( Secretary of Finance).

After the elections in the Philippines in 2010, he was on June 30, 2010 by President Benigno Aquino III. also appointed finance minister in his cabinet.
