Cesio

Cesio ( in Ligurian: Césiu ) is a municipality with 294 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the northern Italian region of Liguria. Politically it belongs to the province of Imperia.

Geography

Cesio is located on the left bank of the Rio Tresenda, five kilometers from the pass crossing Colle San Bartolomeo. Through the village runs the ancient road of the Colle di Nava. The municipality belongs to the Comunità Montana dell'Olivo and is about 19 kilometers from the provincial capital of Imperia.

According to the Italian classifications for seismic activity, the community of Zone 3 was assigned. This means that Cesio is in a seismically active zone little.

Climate

The municipality is classified under climate category E, since the number of degree days has a value of 2416. This means that in Italy legally regulated heating season is between October 15 and April 15, for 14 hours each day.
