Ceuthostoma

The Ceuthostoma are a genus of flowering plants in the family of Kasuarinengewächse ( Casuarinaceae ) from the order of book -like ( fagales ).

Features

The individual, photosynthetically active sprig of Ceuthostoma trees each have four small leaves and no visible stomata. The fruit stands are on green branches and have protruding bracts. The bracts of the individual flowers are aligned forward and have no appendages on the back. The fruits are brownish wing nuts.

Occurrence

The extant species of the genus coming from Malaysia prior to New Guinea. Fossil records are also from New Zealand and South America.
