CF Badalona

C. F. Badalona is a Spanish football club from Catalonia. The club was founded in 1903 playing in the 2007/ 08 season in the Segunda División B, Group III.

History

The first years

The club was founded on 15 May 1903 by musician and athlete Francesc Viñas Bosch under the name Football Club Betulo founded in 1900 as a department of the cycling club " Betulo Sport". In 1908, the club was officially registered. By the year 1913, the club played even with red - blue jerseys.

Fusion

After several years as an independent club, the merger was announced in 1933 with Artiguense. Linked to this was renamed the " Sports Club" and moving into district of Barcelona Artigues. On October 11, 1936 shortly after the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, the new stadium was in a game vs. FC Barcelona inaugurated.

Postwar / economic crisis

Though they had to fight after the Spanish Civil War with great economic problems could be from 1947 to 1952 hold in Segunda División. By 1963, they spent a decade in the then still third-rate Tercera División. From 1963 to 1968, the club spent, although again in the Segunda División, but the economic crisis in the 1960s caused almost for the final collapse of the club. The last years

After 22 years in the Tercera División rose CF Badalona 2003/2004 in the Segunda División B, after the merger took place with the young club Unio de l' Esport Badaloní. This gave fans new hope, and in fact they reached 2005/2006 as the first table the play-offs. At the end, but failed.

Stadium
