CFLY-FM

CFLY -FM is a private radio station in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The transmitter is known mainly for its branding 98.3FlyFM. The station broadcasts a adult contemporary radio format with a power of 95,000 watts from its transmitter towers in Harrowsmith.

History

The station began broadcasting in 1953 under the station name CKLC -FM and was then operated by St. Lawrence Broadcasting. Another sister channel is started at the same time. The original frequency was 99.5 and thus belonged to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation ( CBC) Network. 1973, the frequency was changed to 98.3 FM as well as the call sign in CFLY - FM.

The station was taken over by CHUM Limited in 1998. after this time the station format was modified several times between adult contemporary to hot adult contemporary format. Since 2007, they kept the current broadcast schedule. In June 2007, the station of CTV Globe Media were sold to Bell Media.
