Cgm 558

The Codex germanicus monacensis 558, short Cgm 558, is a German -language manuscript collection of the Munich State Library, which consists of two in the 16th century ( around 1530 ) tied together parts. It is important mainly as a result of, also known as Swiss fencing List text for fencing ( fencing book ) in the second part.

The manuscript dates from the north-east Switzerland ( St. Gallen area ) and came across the Jesuit College Augsburg to Munich. In St. Gallen indicates the invocation of St.. Gallus by the writer Otmar Gossow (leaf 100RA ), the first part of 1462, a law book wrote.

The second part with technical prose was of two hands of the 15th century created ( A and B). Hand B is owned by a Hugo Wittenwiller ( the beige passed year is probably as 1493 to interpret ).
