Chaat masala

Chat masala (Hindi: चाट मसाला Cat masala ) is a Indian Masala ( spice mix ) and is mainly used in India for salads and refreshing chutneys and Raitas. But also for desserts and fruit. The taste is refreshing spicy, slightly sour and slightly resembles the well-known here Fondor. But it also has a completely independent flavor.

Composition

Chat masala is typically composed of the following spices:

• Amchoor (mango powder), asafoetida, cumin (cumin ), pomegranate seeds, ginger, Kala Namak ( black salt), coriander, paprika, black pepper and salt.

Use in the kitchen

Chat Masala is mainly used for salads (usually in conjunction with lemon juice and yogurt). But even in chutneys, Raitas, Lassis and desserts it is used. You can use it also for spicy food and rarely for " curries ".
