Chachi people

Chachi is a South American Indian tribe living in the northern forest of the Ecuadorian province of Esmeraldas. They are sometimes Cayapa ( s ), named after the nearby river Río Cayapas. Their language is called Cha'palaachi and is closely related to the Tsafiki the Tsáchila.

The Chachi mostly live in villages along the river, sometimes together with Afroecuadorianern, descendants of African slaves, but without mixing with those. Your lifestyle is not as traditional as before, but they keep some of their old upright cultural tourist, the relatively numerous companies in this area jungle trips, and like to attend ceremonies to sleep in Indian huts or buy local crafts.

The Chachi have adopted the Marimbaspielen of the Afroecuadorianern in the area, creating her own ways.
