Chad Bassen

Chad Bassen ( born April 25, 1983 in Strathmore, Alberta ) is a German - Canadian professional ice hockey player who played from 2013 for the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Career

Chad Bassen started his professional career with the Regina Pats in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League and played in the period from 2000 to 2004 for a total of four teams in the WHL. From the Regina Pats, the left winger was changed to the Vancouver Giants, then to the Medicine Hat Tigers, until finally he stood for the Everett Silvertips on the ice.

For the season 2004 /05 signed the Canadians, who had now received the German citizenship, at the Frankfurt Lions. There he played into the year 2007, but could not prevail decisively to. After a brief stint in the EV Landsberg in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2006/07 season Bassen changed in the fall of 2007 to the Straubing Tigers, who had one year earlier risen to the DEL. Under the new coach Bob Manno succeeded Bassen to establish itself in Straubing, so his contract was extended in the spring of 2008 until the end of the season 2009/10. For the 2010/11 season, the striker signed a contract with the Hamburg Freezers. After a year of links Sagittarius Hamburg left again and moved to the Augsburg Panthers, where he twice reached the pre- playoffs with his team. At the end of the season, the German -Canadian turned down a contract extension and signed in the summer of 2013 a one-year contract with the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg, his fifth club in the DEL.
