Chad Kroeger

Chad Robert Turton, better known as Chad Kroeger (* November 15, 1974 in Hanna, Alberta ) is a Canadian musician. He became famous as a singer and guitarist of the band Nickelback.

Life

Kroeger taught himself to play the guitar at the age of 13 years even with. Shortly thereafter, he was taken for a year in a reformatory for young people, as he was repeatedly broken into his school. After graduating from high school, he began to walk as a guitarist for a cover band on tour in the early 1990s. The band also had his half-brother Mike Kroeger on bass and Ryan Peake as a guitarist. They performed with numerous songs by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. On August 8, 2012, he has become engaged to rock singer Avril Lavigne. The wedding took place on 1 July 2013.

Career

After the tour, the band broke up and Chad was his brother Mike to take to convince in Vancouver to visit a recording studio and a couple of songs written by him ( as a drummer ) and Ryan Peake ( vocals and guitar ), their cousin Brandon Kroeger common. In 1995, he founded the band Nickelback finally in his birthplace Hanna (Alberta). Since its founding more than once changed the drummer of the group; the current (since 2005), Daniel Adair, before that it was Ryan Vikedal.

2002 sang Chad Kroeger Josey Scott along with the theme song for Hero comic book adaptation Spider-Man. In the same year founded the music label 604 Records Kroeger together with attorney Jonathan Simkin. Theory of a Deadman, Tin Foil Phoenix, Thornley, Armchair Cynics and Marianas Trench: Currently the following bands and artists are under contract.

Also supports the Nickelback frontman bands such as Default, Daughtry and more. He provides tips, sells and promotes plates of them and even writes lyrics.

Music

Kroeger used to play on electric guitar the PRS ( PRS mainly Singlecuts ) brand as well as acoustic guitars Yamaha and Gibson. Since mid- 2010, he plays a custom built for him Gibson guitar, the " Blackwater " Les Paul.

He used Amplifiers from Mesa / Boogie. His musical influences include, inter alia, bands like Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers or Alice in Chains.

Trivia

  • On 22 June 2006 he was arrested in Surrey due to a drag race.
  • On 27 July 2006 he was arrested again, this time for drunk driving.
  • He wrote the lyrics to the Nickelback song photographer who appeared on the album All the Right Reasons (2005) and tells his life.
  • He spent a total of 28 days of his life in a prison cell.
  • He was placed by the British magazine Q in a ranking of the most influential musicians in 17th place.
  • He had a relationship from December 2002 to August 2009 with Marianna Goriuk.
  • The title Why Do not You & I ( feat. Carlos Santana ) was recorded for his album Shaman. Because of concerns raised by Kroeger's record label in relation to the sales of the same appearing Nickelback album The Long Road of the title for the single was taken up again, this time with Alex Band from The Calling as a singer.
