Chad Marshall

Chad Marshall ( born August 22, 1984 in Riverside, California) is an American football player.

Youth and College

Marshall played football at Rubidoux High School in Riverside. He stood in the NCSAA All-American selection and was elected in his last year of high school to the best defender. After graduating, he was one of the best youth players in the U.S. awarded the Soccer America Magazine.

He continued his career at the IMG Soccer Academy continues. In 2002 he moved to Stanford University and played for the local college selection. After two seasons of college football as a professional he decided to carry on.

Columbus Crew

Chad Marshall was drafted as the second in the MLS SuperDraft 2004. The contract was awarded the Columbus Crew. In his first season he played a total of 27 times for the crew and got second place in selecting the best young player of the season. In 2007, he played only 12 times due to injury.

2008 was his strongest season to date. He managed with the team winning the MLS Cup in 2008, where he scored the winning goal in the final game. After the season he was nominated for the best eleven in 2008 and honored as the best defender of the season. This was awarded to him at the end of the 2009 season again. In addition, he was back in the team of the year.

After a trial with 1 FSV Mainz 05 he graduated in December 2008, he extended his expiring contract at the end of 2008 the Department on December 26, 2008.

National

Marshall played for the U-17 youth teams in all of the United States. He took in 2003 at the FIFA World Youth Championship in part.

His first cap for the national team, he completed on 9 March 2005 against Colombia. In this game, he was able to score his first international goal. In 2009 he was in the squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2009.

On 11 May 2010 Marshall was nominated for the preliminary squad for the World Cup 2010 in Südakrika.
