Geography

The County is enclosed in a small part of Pitkin from the north clockwise from Lake, Park, Fremont, Saguache, Gunnison and in the Northwest. The Chaffee County is located within the Rocky Mountains in the midst of mountain ranges Sawatch and Mosquito. Around 16,000 people live mainly in small settlements along the Arkansas River, Chaffee completely flows from north to south. Named the 1879 created by Jerome Bunty Chaffee County; one originating from Colorado U.S. Senator.

Several four-thousand, most of which bear the names of famous universities such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Oxford, find themselves in the Sawatch Mountain Range.

The average age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 113.6 males to 100 females age 18 and over, there were 116.2 males.
