Chai Chidchob

Chai Chidchob ( Thai: ชัย ชิด ชอบ; born April 5, 1928) is a Thai politician and former Speaker of the House.

Career

His political career began as Kamnan ( community leader ) in the province of Buriram. His first political experience at the national level in 1957.

2007 Chai was elected to the Thai Parliament. Throughout his political career he was one of several parties, including the Democratic Party, the Samakkhitham Party ( Thai: พรรค สามัคคีธรรม ), the Chart Thai Party and the Thai Rak Thai. From 15 May 2008 to August 3, 2011, he was the spokesman of the Thai House of Representatives. He was followed by Somsak Kiatsuranont in this position.

Because of the protests by the Red Shirts in Bangkok published in April 2010 to a few MPs in the House of Representatives, which is why Chai a session prematurely aborted.

Currently Chai Chidchob is MP for the Bhumjaithai party.

Family

Chai Chidchob is married to La -ong, with whom he has six children ( five sons and one daughter). One of his sons is Newin Chidchob, who is also an influential politician.
