Chai Wan District

Amphoe Chai Wan ( Thai อำเภอ ไชยวาน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the southeastern province of Udon Thani. The Udon Thani Province is located in the northwestern part of Northeast Thailand, Isaan.

Geography

Neighbouring districts (from the south clockwise): Amphoe Wang Sam Mo, the Si That, Ku Kaeo, Nong Han in the province of Udon Thani, Amphoe Sawang Daen Din and the Song Dao and the province of Sakon Nakhon.

History

The area of ​​today's Chai Wan was previously part of Amphoe Nong Han. On January 3, 1977, a small district ( King Amphoe ) of the two tambon Nong Lak Chai Wan and was set up, which were extracted from the Nong Han District. In 1979, a third Tamobn Kham Lo was set up and a fourth tambon Phon Sung Nong Han dissolved out. The promotion to full Amphoe on February 1, 1988.

Management

Amphoe Chai Wan ( tambon) divided into four municipalities, which in turn in 51 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Chai Wan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ไชยวาน ), consisting of parts of the tambon Chai Wan,
  • Phon Sung ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โพน สูง ), consisting of the whole tambon Phon Sung.

In addition, there are three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
