Chalet

The chalet is in the Alpine region, particularly in Switzerland, widespread rural house type. Chalets are traditionally made of wood, or at least have a wood sheathing. As part of the romanticizing of rural life and the mountain world in the 19th century the European aristocracy and the bourgeoisie developed a growing interest for the traditional wooden house in the Swiss Alps.
