Chalfont St Giles

Chalfont St Giles is a town and civil parish in the county of Buckinghamshire, Chiltern ( district ).

The place name is derived from calcareous spring water. In 1086 he was registered in the Domesday Book, that is still before the Norman Conquest of England.

1665, John Milton down here because of the great plague of London and completed his text here Paradise Lost. His house is a landmark today.
