Chalk Circle (Canadian band)

Chalk Circle was a Canadian rock band.

The band was founded in 1983 by Tad Winklarz, Chris Tait, Derrick Murphy and Brad Hopkins in Ontario. The band name comes from the Caucasian Chalk Circle by Bertolt Brecht. Their debut EP "The Great Lake " was published in 1986; with their single " April Fool" reached the Top 10 Canadian Singles Chart. Even greater attention gained their first LP " Mending Wall ", out of which were the two successful singles "This Mourning " and " 20th Century Boy ", the latter being a cover of T -Rex.

After their last LP "As The Crow Flies", the band broke up in 1990. Their popularity was limited mainly to Canada.
