Chalmers Johnson

Chalmers Ashby Johnson ( born August 6, 1931 in Phoenix, Arizona; † November 20, 2010 in Cardiff -by-the -Sea, California ) was a professor of political science at the University of California, San Diego, adviser to the CIA and Asia expert.

He was considered one of the most distinguished connoisseur of American policy towards Asia and was president of the " Japan Policy Research Institute ." In his later books Johnson expressed sharp criticism of the increasing militarization of U.S. foreign policy. He stood thus in opposition to the policies of President George W. Bush and the foreign policy concepts of the so-called neo-conservatives in the United States.
