Chalte Chalte - Where destiny leads us (Hindi: चलते चलते, Calate Calate; Urdu: چلتے چلتے; German step by step) is a Hindi film directed by Aziz Mirza in 2003, and the many aspects of coexistence between a woman a man picks up.
Action
Raj Mathur is a truck driver and has a small company. Priya, however, is a very educated, successful woman who works as a fashion designer. Both come together in an accident. Raj falls in love and wants to get to know Priya. However, he loses her phone number and she desperately seeks. When he has recovered Priya, he finds out that she wants to get engaged and soon traveling to Greece. Raj does not take long and flies with it to Athens. The aircraft must, however, between land and is delayed. During this time, also in love with Priya Raj. Lets the planned engagement with Sameer burst and marries Raj. On the first anniversary of the difficulties and quarrels start in their relationship, going so far that the couple split after an altercation. Priya is offended and wants to fly back to Greece. Raj tries to stop at the last second, but without success. The only thing that can stop Priya, is Raj's talisman, which was a symbol of their love.
Background
- The film is the third production of the company Dreams Unlimited ( after Asoka and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani ), which belongs Shahrukh Khan, actress Juhi Chawla and director Aziz Mirza.
- Rani Mukherji had the role of Priya initially rejected because the film too reminiscent of the film Saathiya. As Aishwarya Rai but then got out because of personal problems with her then boyfriend Salman Khan, after a few days of shooting, Rani stood in for her.
- In the original language, Shah Rukh praises in one scene the actor Sunny Deol, with whom he is strictly befeindet.
Awards
Chalte Chalte was repeatedly nominated for the Filmfare Awards, Zee Cine Awards and Screen Weekly Awards including for Best Actress, the Best Song and Best music director, but none of the quoted prices has finally won.
The only award for the film, the MTV Immies Indian Music Excellence Award, Shahrukh Khan got for his appearance in the song Tauba Tumhare Ye iShare.
