Chamaret

Chamaret is a commune in southern France in the Drôme department in the Rhône -Alpes. The inhabitants call themselves Chamarétois. The view of the medieval city is dominated by a fortress with two, visible from afar mountain peace.

Geography

Chamaret is located about nine kilometers away from Valréas and in close proximity to colonic cell from the same canton. The community is located directly on the runs in the north -south state road D71, which calls itself north of Chamaret Route de Grignan and south of Chamarat Route de Montségour.

Population

Chamaret belongs with 552 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) to the smaller communities in the department of Drôme. 1962 were still 347 residents counted, then the number fell to 275 in 1975. Since then, the population has risen constant, significant growth, especially in the 1980s was recorded.
