Champex

Champex- Lac is a French-language, belonging to the municipality Orsières village in the Swiss canton of Valais, 15 km south of Martigny.

The resort is located at 1470 m asl, has a lake, many chalets and is known for its postcard-perfect. The Auber Foundation, where it maintains the most species-rich alpine garden Switzerland with more than 2000 mountain plants from around the world. At the southern entrance to the village there is an artillery fortress from the Second World War, which can be visited and at the northern entrance is the apex of the Col de Champex. Champex is an important station of the remote trail Tour du Mont- Blanc and the Ultra Marathon Ultra-Trail du Mont- Blanc.
