Chandra Crawford

Chandra Crawford ( born November 19, 1983 in Canmore, Alberta ) is a Canadian cross-country skier and Olympic champion in the sprint competition of Turin 2006. Their sister Rosanna Crawford is biathlete.

Crawford drove for five years as a biathlete, she joined with 16 years of cross-country skiing and gradually to the Sprint competitions, especially in the open air style, specialized. In 2004, she won the silver and the bronze medal in the relay at the Junior World Championships in Soldier Hollow in the sprint. Their most successful season was the winter of 2005 /06; after four top - 10 finishes in the Sprint Cup, she won the gold medal in the sprint at the 2006 Winter Olympics.

The following season, however, she placed with a third place on the first stage of the Tour de Ski just once among the top 10 of the World Cup, first in the 2007/ 08 season she managed to return to the top. After a tenth place in the first race of the winter, she won the last two freestyle sprints of the season; first in her hometown of Canmore and then in Lahti, Finland.
