Chang Klang District

Amphoe Chang Klang ( Thai: อำเภอ ช้าง กลาง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat. The Nakhon Si Thammarat province is located in the southern region of Thailand.

Geography

The Nakhon Si Thammarat province lies about 780 kilometers south of Bangkok on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula to the Gulf of Thailand.

History

Chang Klang was on 15 July 1996, first as sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the three southeastern Tambon Amphoe Chawang were separated.

On 15 May 2007, the Thai government had decided that all 81 King Amphoe to rise in the simple Amphoe status to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette " Issue 124 chapter 46" of 24 August 2007, this decision officially entered into force.

Management

Amphoe Chang Klang is divided into three communes ( tambon) divided, in turn, in 35 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
