Channel Africa

Channel Africa is the international service of the South African public service broadcasting SABC.

History

1992 Channel Africa has developed since the end of apartheid South Africa from its predecessor Radio RSA. The foreign service changed since grown to a transmitter that should accompany and convey the democratic change in South Africa. It also handles the identification reference to which the station can be seen: "The Voice of the African Renaissance".

Program

The focus of the program focuses on news about South Africa and other African countries. The transmitter reports on politics, culture and sport. In addition, music and radio plays are sent.

Program languages ​​are Chinyanja, Silozi, Kiswahili, English, French and Portuguese.

Reception

It broadcasts on shortwave and via satellite for South, East and West Africa as well as a live stream on the internet. Until 2007, the World Radio Network was used.
