Chanuman District

Amphoe Chanuman ( Thai: อำเภอ ชานุมาน ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) Amnat Charoen Province. The Amnat Charoen province is located in the eastern part of the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Adjacent Amphoe are counted from Southeast Amphoe Khemarat in the province of Ubon Ratchathani, Amphoe Pathum the Ratchawongsa and Amnat Charoen Senangkhanikhom in, Amphoe Loeng Nok Tha in the province of Yasothon, and Amphoe Don Tan in the province of Mukdahan. In the east, on the opposite bank of the Mekong River, is the Laotian province Salavan.

Most important source of water is the Mekong River.

History

Mueang Chanuman Monthon 1910 was established by Phra Prachon Chaturong, his time as part of the Monthon Ubon Ratchathani. Later, the city had to endure an economic crisis and part of the population migrated to other regions. Then Chanuman was downgraded by Prince Sapphasitthiprasong to King Amphoe. 1958 Chanuman regained the status of a Amphoe. Chanuman was one of the districts with which the new Amnat Charoen Province was formed on 12 January 1993.

Management

Amphoe Chanuman is divided into five Tambon, the further into 59 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

Chanuman itself ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ชานุมาน ) comprised a small town ( thesaban tambon), the parts of the tambon Chanuman.

There are also five administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
