Chanville
Chanville is a commune with 117 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Metz- Campagne and Canton Pange.
Geography
Chan Ville is located about 18 kilometers southeast of Metz toward Faulquemont. The municipality covers 3.89 km ². The place is surrounded by agricultural land and forest. The highest elevation of the site reaches a height of 310 m.
History
The village was first mentioned in 1316. Nearby quarries were found for the degradation of gypsum, this area was in ancient times an important industry.
From 1915 to 1918 and from 1940 to 1944 it bore the name eingdeutschten Hanhausen.

Structures
The Sainte-Croix church from the 18th century, was restored in 1844. Furthermore, there are the churches of Saint -Roch and Saint- Sébastien- de -Pierre from the 15th century.
