Shippers is a French company that was founded in 1872 as a shipping company Chargeuse Réunis and works in the fields of film and textiles. The company is listed on the CAC Small.

History

The company was founded 1872/1886 as Compagnie Française de Navigation à Vapeur Chargeuse Réunis in Le Havre. In 1888 the company was renamed in Compagnie Maritime Shippers Réunis. Starting from the base port of Le Havre to the trade from West Africa, across the South American east coast stretching to the United States. 1891, the Company had prepared about 35 ships that 470,000 tons of cargo and 13,600 passengers were transported annually. In 1916 Chargeuse Réunis took over the majority of shares in the Compagnie de Navigation Sud competitors -Atlantique, which ran a passenger liner service from Bordeaux to the ports of the South American east coast on behalf of France and state-owned ships.

About a decade later, in 1927, the shipping company Chargeuse Réunis was in turn means hostile takeover by the Fabre family dependent.
