Charles A. Reynolds

Charles Albert Reynolds ( born November 10, 1848 in Leaksville, North Carolina, † June 2, 1936 in Colfax, North Carolina) was an American civil engineer and politician ( Republican).

Career

Charles Albert Reynolds, the son of Sarah "Jane" Fewell and Dr. Thomas Edwin Reynolds was involved in 1897 in the construction of the first hydroelectric power plant of North Carolina on the Yadkin River. Besides his work as a civil engineer Reynolds pursued a political career. He was 1897-1901 Vice- Governor of the State of North Carolina. Then he ran unsuccessfully in 1904 and 1906 for the fifth constituency of North Carolina in the U.S. House of Representatives. Reynolds died on July 2, 1936 in Colfax and was then buried in the Episcopal Church Cemetery in Leaksville.
