Charles Amoah

Charles Amoah ( born February 28, 1975 in Accra ) is a Ghanaian football player.

Charles Amoah 1994 left his native city of Accra, where he was top scorer in the Ghanaian top flight outfit Okwawu Stores United. He moved in 1995 to the NLB side FC Winterthur, where he mostly sat on the bench. Then he joined the FC Frauenfeld in the Swiss 1st League. Marcel Koller was aware of him and brought him to FC Wil, where he could prove his skills. When Marcel Koller moved to FC St. Gallen, he took it with him. There in 2000 he was Swiss champion and top scorer.

2001 bought the SK Sturm Graz Charles Amoah for the Austrian record total of 54 million shillings at that time ( the equivalent of about four million euros ) and was the most expensive transfer both for Sturm Graz as well as for FC St. Gallen. It was not fair to the expectations and usually only came to part stakes.

For the second half 2006/2007 he was the Austrian first division club LASK Linz under contract.
