Charles B. Lore

Charles Brown Lore ( born March 16, 1831 in Odessa, Delaware, † March 6, 1911 in Wilmington, Delaware ) was an American politician. Between 1883 and 1887 he represented the State of Delaware in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Charles Lore visited the public schools of his home, the Middletown Academy in Delaware and subsequently to June 1852 Dickinson College in Carlisle (Pennsylvania). After a subsequent study of law and its made ​​in 1861 admitted to the bar he began to work in his new profession. Already in 1957, Lore was employed in the management of the Senate from Delaware. During the Civil War he was active in convening authority in New Castle County. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party. From 1869 to 1874 he was attorney general of Delaware.

1882 Lore was in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Edward L. Martin on March 4, 1883. After a re-election in 1884, he could remain until March 3, 1887 in Congress. For the elections of 1886, Lore gave up another candidacy. After retiring from Congress Lore ( Chief Justice ) of the State of Delaware was appointed in 1893 to the Supreme Judge. This office he held until 1909.
