Charles Bickford
Charles Bickford (born 1 January 1891 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, † November 9, 1967 in Los Angeles ) was an American actor.
Life
Bickford grew up as the fifth child of nine children in a poor family. The age of nine, he was indicted for attempted murder of a motorist who had run over his dog. As a teenager he fought with numerous odd jobs through life and traveled across the United States. When he fell in love with San Francisco in an actress, he began with the drama.
His film career began with the first sound films in the late 1920s. Bickford, equipped with a powerful voice, played numerous character roles, but mostly supporting roles. He died in 1967 of blood poisoning. He was nominated three times for an Oscar.
