Charles Brainard Taylor Moore

Charles Brainard Taylor Moore ( * 1853 in Decatur, Illinois, † April 4, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) was an American naval officer. Between 1905 and 1908 he was military governor of American Samoa.

Career

About the youth and education of Charles Moore, nothing is handed down. In 1873 he graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis (Maryland). He then went through a military career as an officer in the United States Navy. In 1911 he was promoted to Rear Admiral. In the decades before he served on various ships of the Navy.

Between 1904 and 1908 he was military governor of American Samoa. In 1911 he became commander of the Naval Station in San Francisco. Later he commanded the bases in the Philippines and Hawaii. In 1915 he retired, he spent in Decatur. He died on April 4, 1923 in Naval Hospital in Philadelphia.
