Charles C. Moore

Charles Calvin Moore ( born February 26, 1866 Holt County, Missouri, † March 19, 1958 in St. Anthony, Idaho ) was an American politician and 1923-1927 Governor of the State of Idaho.

Early years and political rise

Charles Moore attended the public schools of his home in Missouri. He attended a school for teacher training. Between 1894 and 1898 he was employed in various positions in his home district. In 1899 he moved to Idaho, where he worked as a teacher and was active in the real estate market. He was involved in the founding of the village Ashton and founded the first independent school district in Fremont County. Moore was also involved in the founding of St. Anthony Bank and Trust Company and the Idaho Industrial Training School.

Moore was a member of the Republican Party. Between 1903 and 1907 he was a delegate in the House of Representatives from Idaho. From 1908 to 1913 he was postmaster in St. Anthony. In 1918 he was elected lieutenant governor of his state. He was 1919-1923 representatives of Governor DW Davis, as his successor, he was elected in 1922.
