The Charles Darwin University, abbreviated as CDU, is a state university in the Federal Territory Northern Territory in Australia.

The college was founded in 1989 as the Northern Territory University (NTU ) in Darwin, NTU with the Centralian College in Alice Springs has been on 1 January 2004 merged under the new name of Charles Darwin University. It is named after the British naturalist Charles Darwin.

The main campus " Casuarina " is located in the district Brinkin capital Darwin, other locations are in Alice Springs, Palmerston and Katherine as well as smaller offshoots in Tennant Creek, Yulara, Jabiru, Nhulunbuy and Mataranka.
