Charles Fabry

Maurice Paul Auguste Charles Fabry ( born June 11, 1867 in Marseille, † December 11, 1945 in Paris) was a French physicist.

Life

His most significant invention, which he made ​​in 1897 together with his long-time research partner Alfred Perot, the Fabry -Perot interferometer. Charles Fabry and Henri Buisson regarded as the discoverer of the ozone layer, as they were able to demonstrate ozone at higher layers of the atmosphere in 1913 by UV spectroscopic measurements for the first time.

In 1929 he was awarded the Jules Janssen Award.
