Charles Gaudichaud-Beaupré
Charles Gaudichaud -Beaupré ( born September 4, 1789 in Angoulême, † January 16, 1854 in Paris) was a French botanist. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Gaudich. ".
Life and work
Gaudichaud -Beaupré was as a botanist on several extended trips to ship overseas. He accompanied botanist a world tour (1817-1820) by Louis de Freycinet; Jean René Constant Quoy him for this (1790-1869) was selected. 1830 to 1832 he took part in a trip to South America aboard the L' Herminie and so came to Brazil, Chile and Peru. He also took part in a 1836-1837 world tour of Auguste -Nicolas Vaillant ( 1793-1858 ) aboard the La Bonite.
Ehrentaxon
The plant genus Gaudichaudia Kunth. from the family of Malpighiengewächse ( Malpighiaceae ) has been named after him.
