Charles H. Joffe

Charles H. Joffe (* July 16, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York City; † July 9, 2008 in Los Angeles ) was an American film producer.

Career

Joffe was working as a freelance talent scout and manager during his studies of Journalism at Syracuse University. From 1953 until the late 1980s, he worked with Jack Rollins together as an agent for comedians such as Robin Williams and Billy Crystal. He was the producer of almost all films of Woody Allen, whom he discovered as a screenwriter and he first acting role in the feature film What's New Pussycat? procured. Joffe won in 1978 as a co- producer of The City EUR sufferers the Oscar for best film of the year. He is the stepfather of director Nicole Holofcener.
