Charles I. de Lalaing

Charles I de Lalang (* 1466, † July 17, 1525 in Oudenaarde Castle ) was from 1522 Comte de Lalang. He was the eldest son of Josse de Lalang and Bonne de la Viefville.

Life

Charles de Lalang was Dutch Council of State and Treasurer of Maximilian I, Philip the Fair and Charles V. In 1505 he was taken by Philip in the Order of the Golden Fleece, 1508 by Karl Baron de Lalang, the fourteen year later, in 1522 the barony of (Spanish - Dutch ) County rose. In the service of the Habsburgs, he was also governor of Oudenaarde Charles de Lalaings died on July 17, 1525 and was buried in the Abbaye de Prés in Douai.
