Charles III, Duke of Parma

Ferdinand Charles III. Parma ( born January 14, 1823 in Florence, † March 27, 1854 in Parma) was Duke of Parma.

Life

Ferdinand Karl was the only son of Duke Karl Ludwig II of Parma (1799-1883) and his wife Princess Maria Theresa (1803-1879), daughter of King Victor Emmanuel I of Sardinia and his wife, Mary of Modena.

After his father abdicated in his favor, he returned from London in August 1849 on the protection of Austrian troops to Parma back and built a reactionary despotism regime that made ​​him so hated that he was stabbed to death in March 1854 in Parma in the street by a stranger. For the still immature heir Duke Robert ( 1854-1859/60 ) whose mother, a native French Bourbon Princess Marie Louise of Bourbon, the regency took over.

Marriage and issue

On November 10, 1845 Ferdinand Karl married on Frohnburg village in Austria, the French Princess Louise Marie Therese ( 1819-1864 ), only daughter of the Duke of Berry, Charles- Ferdinand de Bourbon and his wife Princess Maria Carolina of Naples and Sicily. The marriage produced four children:
