Charles Maung Bo

Charles Maung Bo SDB ( born October 29, 1948 in Mohla, Myanmar ) is Archbishop of Yangon.

Life

Charles Maung Bo joined the Congregation of the Salesians of Don Bosco and received on 9 April 1976, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On July 7, 1990, Pope John Paul II appointed Bishop of Lashio. The Archbishop of Mandalay, Alphonse U Than Aung, donated to him on 16 December of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Myitkyina, Paul Zingtung Grawng, and the Bishop of Kengtung, Abraham Than. On 13 March 1996, John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Pathein. John Paul II appointed him on 24 May 2003 as Archbishop of Yangon. The inauguration took place on 7 June of the same year.
