Charles S. Sewall

Charles S. Sewall (* 1779 in Queen Anne's County, Maryland, † November 3, 1848 in Harford County, Maryland ) was an American politician. In the years 1832 and 1833 and again in 1843 he represented the state of Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Charles Sewall attended the public schools of his home. During the British - American War of 1812 he served in the militia of Maryland. After that, he embarked on a political career. He was a member of both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of Maryland. In the 1820s he joined the movement to the future President Andrew Jackson. Later he became a member of the Democratic Party, founded by this.

After the death of Mr George Edward Mitchell Sewall was at the election due in the sixth constituency of his state as his successor in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on October 1, 1832 to March 3, 1833 ended the current legislative period.
