Charles Saunders (Royal Navy officer)

Sir Charles Saunders ( * 1715, † December 7, 1775 in London, UK United Kingdom ) was an admiral in the Royal Navy during the Seven Years' War and later First Lord of the Admiralty. He commanded the fleet, the 1759 James Wolfe to Quebec and ensured the victory of the fallen general after the battle on the Plains of Abraham. from 1750 to the end of his life he was a member of the British House of Commons.

According to him, Saunders Iceland, an uninhabited island named in the South Atlantic.
